Tell the Mayor Not to Cut Funds for Our Life-Saving Services

As the City continues to forecast more cuts to services, Women Against Abuse is braced for the worst.

Our emergency shelter is still reeling from the 15 percent reduction in City funding we absorbed in November, and further cuts will mean fewer beds, meals and services for survivors of domestic violence.

Help protect the shelter by calling Mayor Nutter at 215-686-2181. Tell him you will not support more cuts to Philadelphia's only shelter serving victims of domestic violence. As Philadelphia Weekly reporter Tara Murtha writes, "now is the worst possible time to abandon our most vulnerable and neglected citizens."

Click to read Philadelphia Weekly's take on why the life-saving services at the emergency shelter must be preserved.
